Honest comparison
Linkilo vs Internal Link Juicer: automatic vs reviewed.
Internal Link Juicer links keywords you configure, wherever they appear, when the page renders. Linkilo suggests links it found by reading the posts, waits for you to approve them, and writes them into your content. Both approaches are defensible. This page is about which one suits how you work, and what each one costs at the tier you would be on.
If you only read one paragraph
Internal Link Juicer is a keyword-to-URL engine with ninety thousand active installs and a 4.7 rating, and it deserves both. You define keywords on a target post and it links them everywhere they appear, on the fly, without ever changing your stored content. That is quick to set up and hands-off. The trade-off is that it can only link what you typed in, it adds nothing your readers can keep if the plugin goes, and it never checks a link, a redirect or a crawler. Linkilo has the same rule engine with a dry run, then adds a suggestion layer that reads the posts and finds the connections no keyword list contains, writes real links after you approve them, and covers broken links, redirects, crawl logs and clusters in the same plugin. If you want pure automation and nothing else, keep Juicer. If you have ever opened a post and wondered why the obvious link is not there, this is the other way.
Four things that change the decision
Including the two where Internal Link Juicer is plainly ahead.
How established
- Linkilo
- Newer, and smaller
- Internal Link Juicer
- 90,000+ active installs, 4.7 from 535 reviews, now owned by the UpdraftPlus team
Juicer wins this one outright. A large install base means a large body of answered questions.
Where the links live
- Linkilo
- Written into post content after you approve them
- Internal Link Juicer
- Added when the page renders; nothing is saved to the post
Juicer’s own FAQ is clear about this and presents it as a feature: deactivate and your content is exactly as it was. The cost is that builders that bypass the content filter show no links, and neither does anything that reads the database.
What decides a link
- Linkilo
- Rules with a dry run, plus suggestions scored on meaning, intent and entities
- Internal Link Juicer
- Rules: keywords you typed on each target post
Juicer has no suggestion engine and no review step by design. It links what it is told to.
The refund window
- Linkilo
- 30 days, no conditions
- Internal Link Juicer
- 14 days, only for a technical problem support cannot resolve
From Juicer’s own FAQ: not for changing your mind or a missing feature. Worth knowing before you buy either.
The suggestion queue, exactly as it ships.
These are links nobody configured. Linkilo read the posts, scored each pair on meaning, intent, entities and cluster position, checked the anchor exists in the source post, and put the survivors here. Approve one and it is written into the post. Reject one and the score tells you what it got wrong.
AI Link Suggestions
Build a review queue of internal-link opportunities, apply the best ones, and let Autopilot keep looking when you are ready.
AI Rules Impact
5/6 rules active — 19 filtered outThe sentence is about seasoning, the target post is the seasoning guide, and the anchor already exists in your copy.
Sentence-level match on humidor quality; the target is the roundup that owns this phrase.
Related, but the anchor is generic and appears on 9 other pages, so the Anchor Report rule pulled the score down.
No Link Suggestions Ready
There is no queue to review yet. Start a capped scan now, then approve only the links worth adding.
Best next move: start with 3-5 posts, review the queue, then turn on Autopilot once the suggestions look right.
Recreated from the plugin’s own templates and stylesheet. Same columns, same labels, same scores.

- Juicer no longer sells a lifetime licence on its own site. Third-party pages that still quote one are out of date.

Where Internal Link Juicer is the better choice
No tool wins at everything, and a comparison page that pretends otherwise is not worth reading.
Internal Link Juicer is the right tool for someone who wants automation and nothing else, and it is good at that. It has the largest install base of any dedicated linking plugin, an established vendor behind it, and a free version that is usable on a small site. Its rule engine is more refined than Linkilo’s: gap keywords let “best {2} shoes” match “best running shoes”, caps work per post, per target and per paragraph, and the Pro version reads focus keywords straight out of Yoast or Rank Math so you do not type them twice. It builds its index from WP-CLI, which matters on a big site. And because nothing is ever written to a post, there is no review step to skip and no snapshot to keep. If your idea of internal linking is “set the rules once and never think about it again”, Juicer does that with less ceremony than Linkilo.
You want set-and-forget and you mean it
Juicer has no review queue because it does not need one. Linkilo’s rules have a dry run, which is one more step every time you add a rule.
Your keywords are already in Yoast or Rank Math
Juicer Pro imports focus keywords as link targets. Linkilo does not read your SEO plugin’s keyword fields.
You need gap keywords or per-paragraph caps
Both are Juicer features. Linkilo’s rules are plainer and lean on the dry run and the suggestion engines instead.
You are on five or ten sites and watching the budget
Juicer’s five-site and ten-site tiers are the cheaper buy. At one site or unlimited, Linkilo is.
Where Linkilo pulls ahead
It links what you did not think of
Rules link your keywords. The suggestion engines read the posts and surface the connections no list contains, inbound as well as outbound, each with the score that found it.
See howYou see the change before it happens
The dry run lists every post and anchor a rule would touch. Over-linking and doubled anchors, the two complaints Juicer users raise most, are caught on the preview.
See howThe links are in your content
Written after you approve them, so they show in every builder, every export, every search index and every theme, and they stay if the plugin goes.
See howIt checks the links it finds
Broken links grouped and repaired in bulk, redirecting links rewritten to the final URL, a Wayback lookup for the ones that are gone. Juicer does not check a link at all.
See howRedirects and 404s are in the box
A redirect manager with a 404 log, chain flattening, regex and an autopilot. The plugin you would otherwise install next to Juicer.
See howIt sees the crawlers
Which bots fetched which pages, verified, with a stale-pages list and alerts. Linking is only half the question; whether Google came back is the other half.
See howMoving from Internal Link Juicer
Juicer’s links vanish the moment it is deactivated, because they were never saved. So the order matters. Done in this order, nothing is lost.
List your keyword rules
They live on each target post. The statistics screen shows targets and anchors; note the ones you still want. This is also when most people prune the rules that over-linked.
Install Linkilo alongside and scan
A scan writes nothing. It indexes the links actually stored in your content, which will not include Juicer’s render-time ones, and gives you the honest baseline plus the first suggestion queue.
Recreate the rules as a dry run
Enter the keyword-to-URL pairs. The dry run shows every anchor each rule would create, so a rule that would link “shoes” forty times on one page is visible before it does.
Apply, with a snapshot
A rollback snapshot is written, then the links are added in capped batches. From here the links exist in the posts.
Deactivate Juicer
Its links disappear; Linkilo’s remain. Spot-check a few posts you know well. If editor saves were slow with Juicer on a large site, this is also the moment you notice they are not.
If you ever leave Linkilo
Every link it wrote is ordinary HTML and stays. Redirect rules live in the plugin, as with any redirect plugin, so export them before you go.
Which one is right for you
Stay on Juicer if
You want rules, no review step, and nothing written to your posts.
With Linkilo: that is exactly what it is for, and the free tier may be all you need.
Switch if
You keep finding posts where the obvious link is missing because no rule covered it.
With Linkilo: the suggestion engines find those and show you why.
Switch if
A rule once linked the same word a dozen times on one page and you found out from a reader.
With Linkilo: the dry run shows every anchor before a rule runs.
Switch if
You also run a broken link checker and a redirect plugin next to Juicer.
With Linkilo: one licence covers all three, on one link index.
Questions people ask before switching from Internal Link Juicer
They disappear. Juicer’s own FAQ explains that links are added when the page renders and never saved to the post, which is why deactivating leaves your content untouched. The switching steps above recreate the rules in Linkilo first so nothing goes missing.
Yes. Keyword-to-URL auto-linking with caps and exclusions. The differences are the dry run before anything is added, and that the links are written into the content. Linkilo does not have gap keywords or per-paragraph caps.
Not automatically. The keywords live on each Juicer target post; list them, enter them as rules in Linkilo and run the dry run. It is hand work, and it is usually when people drop the rules they no longer want.
The plugin is paid, with a 30-day money-back guarantee and no conditions. The free tools on this site need no account and cover link equity, internal link ratio, anchor diversity, redirect chains, broken links and more.
The opposite. Every suggestion waits for your approval and shows the score that produced it. Rules still run as rules. The AI only widens what gets put in front of you; it never adds a link on its own.
No. Rules, the literal-match engine, broken links, redirects, the crawl log and click analytics all work without one. Add a key when you want embeddings, intent and entity matching. OpenAI bills you directly and Linkilo adds nothing.
The editor loads the suggestion panel on demand, and analysis runs in the background in capped batches rather than on save. Nothing is recomputed while you type.
Links Linkilo writes are in the post content, so any builder that stores content in the post shows them. Builders that bypass the content filter, which is where Juicer users report links not appearing, are not a factor because nothing is injected at render time.
Yes, for the comparison. Keep auto-linking on in only one of them, or the same keyword will be linked twice on the same page.
