How to Improve the Link Suggestions I’m Getting with Linkilo?

Go Back to Main Knowledgebase

There are several ways you can improve the type of link suggestions you are getting:

1. Add “Excluded Words”

While we did add several common words that Linkilo should ignore, your niche might be a bit different and need a few custom exclusions.

For example, we did not exclude the word “Guide” in the excluded word list because it might be beneficial on some cases and some that are not. However, if you use this word frequently, it can cause Linkilo to provide more irrelevant suggestions

All you have to do is go to Linkilo>>Settings>>Excluded Words and add the words you want us to ignore.

ignore words

2. Use the criteria option

Tags, categories, title tags, and others are great options to exclude a bit more suggestions that might not be relevant to the article you are trying to add links to.

You might want to use a criteria, such as, tags or categories to isolate a specific section of articles instead of suggestions from the whole site.

You might have a website with multiple categories: Home, Garden, Backyard.

If you have an article on:

“Best ways to add mulch to your lawn

“Best way to do yoga if you have a lawn outside”

Linkilo might suggests words like

“Way” ————- “Lawn”.

As you can see, it would not make sense for Linkilo to suggest the links, but because the words “Way” and “Lawn” is there, it is suggesting it.

If you select a specific category “Garden”, then Linkilo will eliminate the yoga article suggestion:

3. Build your structure with keywords

Utilizing these features to help identify the proper keywords for your article is the best way to get Linkilo to be better in the long run.

It also helps you identify REAL keywords that you should be ranking.

Add your own keywords, or choose from Google Search Console, or from other SEO tools like Rank Math, Yoast, and the like.

This way, you are telling Linkilo to focus on finding these keywords within your site.
