How to Use the Bulk Import Keywords Feature for Auto-Linking in WordPress

Using the Bulk Import Keywords feature simplifies the process of managing auto links on your WordPress site. By following these steps, you can easily automate the linking process, saving you time and ensuring your content is optimized for both SEO and user navigation.

Step 1: Prepare Your CSV File

Before you begin, ensure your CSV file is structured correctly. Based on the uploaded CSV, it seems like the structure should have at least two columns:

• Target Word: The keyword or phrase you want to auto-link across your site.
• URL: The specific URL you want the target word to link to.

For example, the CSV may look like this:

Target Word, URL
"SEO proposal", "https://example.com/seo-proposal"
"digital marketing", "https://example.com/digital-marketing"

You can add more rows to this CSV as needed, ensuring that each target word is linked to the correct URL.

Step 2: Go to the Bulk Import Section

1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
2. Go to the plugin or tool where you manage auto links.
3. In the Add New Auto Links section, look for the Bulk Import Keywords option.

Step 3: Upload the CSV File

1. Click the Bulk Import Keywords button. A modal window will appear asking you to upload your CSV file.
2. Click the Choose File button and select the CSV file you’ve prepared (like the one you uploaded).
3. Once the file is selected, check the box Use first row as header if your CSV file includes headers like “Target Word” and “URL.”
4. After verifying your file, click the Upload button.

Step 4: Set Additional Options

In the modal, you will see a few additional settings:

• Add URL to feed if it already contains URL?: Check this option if you want to add URLs even if they are already included in the feed.
• One link per post?: If checked, this ensures that each target word only links to a single URL per post.

Make sure these settings align with your linking strategy before moving forward.

Step 5: Finalize the Import

After uploading the CSV, the system will process the file and insert the URLs for the respective target words across your content. You’ll see a confirmation with the number of URLs that were inserted, which can be managed from the dashboard.

Step 6: Review and Manage Auto Links

Once the import is complete, you can review the target words and URLs that were linked. Ensure that the correct keywords are now auto-linked to the right URLs. You can always edit or delete the links later if needed.
