Getting Started with the Linkilo Keyword Specialist

What is the Keyword Specialist?

The Keyword Specialist is your website’s “Keyword Inventory.” It lists every keyword you are targeting and shows you exactly which post ranks for it.

This tool helps you prevent Keyword Cannibalization (where two posts fight for the same term) and ensures every important page has a specific goal.

The focus for this feature is to properly assign keywords to the right page/post so that our internal linking tool will provide better link suggestion. It is not a keyword or link cannibalization report, which serves other purposes.

Part 1: Your Keyword List (Automatic Setup)

Good news: You don’t need to manually import anything.

Linkilo automatically builds this list for you in two ways:

From your SEO Plugin: It reads the “Focus Keywords” you set in Yoast, RankMath, or SEOPress.
From AI Scanning: When you run the AI Content Processing (in the Settings page), Linkilo identifies and adds relevant keywords here.

Action: Simply open the Keyword Specialist page. Your keywords should already be waiting for you!

Part 2: Managing Your Keywords

Think of this page as a spreadsheet for your SEO strategy.

Add New Keyword: If a post is missing a target keyword, click this button to assign one manually.
Scan for Similar Keywords: Click this button to find duplicates. It helps you catch issues like having one post targeting “best coffee” and another targeting “best coffee beans”—allowing you to fix the overlap.
Delete/Edit: Use these buttons to clean up old or incorrect data without affecting your actual posts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does this replace Yoast or RankMath?

A: No. This tool reads from them. It creates a “Linkilo Copy” of your data so our AI can run faster without constantly querying your SEO plugin. You should still set focus keywords in your SEO plugin as usual.

Q: If I change a keyword here, does it change in Yoast?

A: No. This is for Linkilo’s internal linking logic. It allows you to tell Linkilo, “I know Yoast says ‘Best Shoes’, but for internal linking, I want you to focus on ‘Running Sneakers’.”

Q: Why don’t I see keyword search volume?

A: The Keyword Specialist is an organization tool, not a keyword research tool (like Ahrefs or Semrush). Its job is mapping, not market analysis.

Q: How does this help Internal Linking?

A: When Linkilo’s AI suggests links, it looks at this registry. If it knows Post A targets “Vegan Pizza,” it will try to find opportunities in Post B to link to Post A using the anchor text “Vegan Pizza.”
