Power User

Advanced (Power-User Settings)

Debug, support, danger-zone, and multi-site linking. If you're unsure what something does, leave it at the default.

Get there

Linkilo → Settings → Advanced (under the Advanced group in the Settings sidebar).

The top of the page shows a Power user scope badge: "Debug, support, and danger-zone settings. If you're unsure what something does, leave it at the default."

The page has three cards.

Card 1: Cross-site linking (multi-site)

If you run multiple WordPress sites and want them to surface internal links across each other, this is the feature.

All sites need Linkilo installed and a license. Then each site shares a secret access code so they can read each other's URL inventories.

Set it up

  1. Go to Linkilo → Settings → Advanced.
  2. Find the Cross-site linking card.
  3. Toggle Enable cross-site linking to ON.
  4. In Access code, paste a shared secret (generate one if it's a new network).
  5. Click Save Settings.

Add another site to the network

On the OTHER site:

  1. Install Linkilo (with a valid license).
  2. Go to Settings → Advanced → Cross-site linking.
  3. Enable it.
  4. Paste the same access code.
  5. Save.

Both sites are now in the same network. They'll start surfacing each other's URLs as suggestion candidates.

Manage linked sites

For adding/removing individual sites, register/unregister, import URLs, refresh — that's done from the legacy linked-sites view (not yet migrated to the modern Advanced template). The settings page links to it.

Card 2: Debug & support tools

Diagnostic toggles. Most sites can leave these all off.

Show PHP errors on the page

Surfaces PHP errors instead of hiding them. Useful for diagnosing issues, but visitors may see error messages — only enable briefly on a staging site.

Re-scan posts every time they are saved

Checks for un-indexed posts every time a post is saved. Can fix missing entries in reports but may cause memory/timeout errors on large sites. Default is OFF.

Include extra detail in support exports

Adds post meta to the support data export. Usually only needed for page-builder issues.

Notice when another Linkilo site connects

Shows an admin notice when a connection request comes in from another Linkilo site (the cross-site linking feature). Default ON.

Click Save Settings when changing anything.

Card 3: Danger zone

The big red box.

Wipe everything if I uninstall Linkilo

Toggle. When ON, deleting the Linkilo plugin will wipe:

  • All settings
  • Click data
  • URL records
  • Suggestion history
  • Embedding caches

Links Linkilo inserted INTO your content stay (because they're now part of your posts). But you lose every URL-change record, every report, every analytic.

Toggling on doesn't delete anything. It only sets the uninstall behavior. Actual deletion happens when you DELETE the plugin from Plugins → Installed Plugins.

So if you toggle this on by accident, you can safely toggle it back off before uninstalling. Nothing is destroyed until uninstall AND this toggle is ON.

Licensing (separate sidebar item)

Licensing is its own tab in the same Advanced group. Click Linkilo → Settings → Licensing to reach it.

One card: Activate Linkilo.

Activate

  1. Paste your license key into the License key field.
  2. Click Activate License.
  3. See "License active" in green. The card title changes to Active license with a partial-key view.

Deactivate (moving to a new site)

Linkilo doesn't have an in-plugin Deactivate button. To free a license slot:

  1. Sign in to linkilo.co.
  2. Go to Manage Sites.
  3. Remove the site you want to free up.

You can also click Manage sites on linkilo.co from the Active license card to jump there.

Common Questions

Does Cross-site linking share my OpenAI key?

No. Each site uses its own OpenAI key. Cross-site linking just shares URL inventories.

Are linked sites visible to anyone with the access code?

Yes. The access code is like a password. Keep it private. Anyone with the code can see your URL list and have their site appear in your suggestions.

When should I turn on Debug mode?

Only when diagnosing an issue. Visitors may see error messages with stack traces — bad for production. Turn it on briefly, capture the error, turn it off.

What if I want to keep some data and delete other data?

The Danger Zone is all-or-nothing. For granular cleanup, contact support or have a developer write SQL queries against the linkilo_* tables.

My license won't activate

Check:

  1. No spaces in the key (paste carefully).
  2. License not expired (check your purchase email).
  3. License has activations left (multi-site licenses cap activations).
  4. Your site is reachable from our server (firewalls/proxies can block).

See Troubleshooting for more details.

Do I lose data if my license expires?

No. Linkilo keeps working — you just stop getting AI suggestion engine access, plugin updates, and premium support. Settings, links, and history are preserved.

Can I share my license with my client?

Depends on the license type. Per-site licenses are one site. Unlimited-site licenses can be used across all sites you manage. Check your purchase email or contact support if unsure.
