Plugin Could Not Be Activated Because It Triggered a Fatal Error

What this error usually means

This message most often comes up after an incomplete update — either the file replace didn't finish cleanly, or you tried to activate a new version while the old one was still active.

How to fix it

1. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins
2. Deactivate the existing Linkilo (or any leftover Linkilo install)
3. Delete the existing Linkilo (your settings and DB data are preserved)
4. Upload the fresh .zip you downloaded from your Linkilo account
5. Activate the new version

If the error persists after a clean install

• Make sure your PHP version is 7.4 or higher
• Try the plugin conflict detection workflow

• Submit a ticket with the full error message and PHP version
