Where we stand
Linkilo’s Crawler Analyzer helps you see exactly which URLs Google (and other bots) are crawling, and when each URL was last visited. Many customers ask if we can automatically tell Google to re-crawl a page.
Why we don’t auto-submit
Google’s Indexing API officially supports only two use cases:
- Job postings
- Live streaming structured data
Using the Indexing API for anything else (blog posts, product pages, etc.) is against Google’s terms of service and can hurt your site overall — including manual actions in some reported cases.
We’ve chosen not to build a feature that could put customers at risk by misusing the API.
What you can do today
- Check how Google sees a page from inside Linkilo — in the Crawler Analyzer, each URL row has a small GSC button that runs Google Search Console’s URL Inspection for that page, and Bulk Inspect At-Risk Pages checks the pages Google hasn’t crawled recently. Results are collected in Linkilo → Diagnose → Index Coverage. This needs Google Search Console connected under Linkilo → Settings → Google Search Console. Inspection shows Google’s verdict; asking Google to index a page is still done manually in Search Console, one URL at a time, the way Google allows it.
- Sitemap submission — keep your XML sitemap updated and submitted in Search Console.
- Internal linking — Linkilo’s bread and butter. Strong internal links from frequently-crawled pages get new URLs discovered faster than waiting for a manual request. Link Priorities and Orphan Pages show you where those links are missing.
If Google ever broadens the Indexing API
We watch their requirements closely. If Google opens the Indexing API for general use, we’ll add automated submission as a feature.
