Is the Auto-Linking Tool Fully Automated?

Short answer: no — and that's by design

Our auto-linking tool is intentionally not 100% automated. Here's why.

Why automation alone leads to penalties

Years of SEO experience went into Linkilo, and one consistent lesson is that fully automated internal linking tends to harm rankings. Two reasons:

Anchor text variation. If you have three pages — "best coffee maker," "best cheap coffee maker," "best coffee maker for $100" — a fully-automatic tool can't distinguish between the intent of each. It'll link the most common anchor everywhere and you lose ranking value on the long-tail variants.

Editorial review. Even AI-generated suggestions need a human glance. Linkilo's AI suggestions surface candidate links and anchor text, but you confirm what gets inserted. That keeps editorial control where it belongs.

What Linkilo automates vs. what you control

  • Automated: finding candidate links, scoring relevance, surfacing the suggestion next to your draft, generating multiple anchor-text variants.
  • You control: which suggestion to accept, which anchor to use, where in the article the link goes.

If you want fully-automated bulk linking for a specific keyword, the Auto-Link feature is the closest fit — but even there you review the rule before it runs.
