Why this matters
By default Linkilo scans posts and pages. If you run an e-commerce site, recipe blog, job board, or any site with a custom post type (CPT), Linkilo can scan those too — you just have to opt them in.
Step-by-step
- Go to Linkilo → Manage → Settings and click General in the left navigation (under Editor & Behavior).
- Scroll to the Which posts to scan card and find Scan these post types.
- Check the box next to each post type you want Linkilo to scan:
product(WooCommerce, EDD),recipe(recipe plugins),job_listing(WP Job Manager),course/lesson(LMS plugins), or any custom post type from your theme or other plugins. Only public types are listed; turn on Show non-public types if you need a private or internal type (most sites leave this off). - Click Save Settings.
- Go to Linkilo → Summary and click Perform Scan so the link records are rebuilt for the new types. The settings page reminds you to do this.
What changes after enabling a post type
- Linkilo will scan content from that post type and use it as link-suggestion candidates
- When editing a post of that type, the Linkilo AI Suggestions box appears on the edit screen
- The post type’s URLs become eligible link destinations from your blog posts and pages
- Reports such as Orphan Pages, Link Priorities and the Summary charts include the new type after the next scan
A note on scan performance
Each post type you enable means more pages for Linkilo to scan. On large sites:
- Enable only the post types you actually want internal-linked
- Run Perform Scan once after enabling new types; the Summary page shows the scan’s progress and lets you stop it
- Plan a slightly longer scan window if you’ve added a large new post type (e.g. 5,000 products)
- If you use AI Suggestions, the new posts also need content processing (Settings → AI Settings, step 3) before the AI can suggest links for them
