How to Bulk-Import Keywords with a CSV

Why bulk import

If you've already done keyword research in a spreadsheet — keyword mapping in Google Sheets, an Ahrefs / Semrush export, a custom strategy doc — you can upload it to Linkilo instead of typing keywords into one post at a time. Imported keywords join the post's keyword set and are used for link suggestions straight away.

Prepare the CSV

The CSV needs two columns:

• URL — the page or post URL on your site
• Keywords — keywords for that URL, separated by | (pipe) if there's more than one

Example row:

https://yoursite.com/best-coffee/,best coffee|best coffee maker|cheap coffee maker

Save as .csv (UTF-8 if you have non-ASCII characters). Linkilo keeps up to 20 keywords per row. A sample file is linked from the import window (Need help? Download a template here.).

Where to upload

In Linkilo 3.0 bulk keyword import lives in the post editor:

1. Open any post in the WordPress editor
2. Scroll down to the LINKILO – Settings box
3. Click the Bulk Upload Keywords tab
4. Click Bulk Import keywords — an Import Keywords window opens
5. Choose your CSV file
6. Tick Use first row as header if your file has a header row
7. Click Upload

Important: when you import from inside a post, every keyword in the file is attached to that post — the URL column is not used to match other posts. Use one file per post, or filter your spreadsheet down to the rows for the post you have open before uploading.

The redesigned Linkilo → Linking → Focus Keyword page no longer has a bulk-import button; it focuses on recommending and activating one target keyword per page. If you want Linkilo to pick keywords for many pages at once, use that page's Activate target action instead. See Focus Keyword Analyzer.

After the import

The imported keywords appear in the Bulk Upload Keywords tab and in All Keywords, already ticked as active. Untick any you don't want and click Update Existing Keywords; click the small x next to a keyword to delete it.

Limits

• Files larger than 1 MB are rejected with File too large
• Files with more than 1,000 rows stop with Too many rows — split them into smaller imports
• Rows with an empty keyword column are skipped
• Only .csv files are accepted

Tips

• Quote phrases with commas in your CSV. Otherwise the keyword Best, Cheap Coffee gets split across columns.
• Use the pipe, not commas, to separate multiple keywords for one URL.
• Test with 5 rows first to confirm the format before uploading hundreds.
