How to Connect Google Search Console to Linkilo

Why connect GSC

When Linkilo is connected to Google Search Console it can:

• Pull the keywords each page actually ranks for and use them as link-suggestion candidates
• Run keyword cannibalization reports (find cases where multiple pages compete for the same keyword)
• Show you query data alongside your link analysis, and check index coverage for your URLs

Linkilo 3.0 uses one Google sign-in for both Search Console and Google Analytics 4. You don’t create a Google Cloud project, paste a client ID or secret, or copy an authorization code — one button does it.

Step-by-step

1. Go to Linkilo → Manage → Settings and click Google Search Console in the left navigation (under Integrations).
2. Click Connect Google Search Console & Analytics.
3. A Google sign-in window opens — select the Google account that owns the Search Console property for your site.
4. On Google’s permission screen, tick Search Console. Tick Analytics too if you also want GA4 data (see How to set up Google Analytics 4). Both are read-only.
5. You’re returned to Linkilo’s settings. Linkilo loads your Search Console properties straight away and automatically selects the one that matches your site’s address.
6. If the right property wasn’t picked (for example, you have both a domain property and a URL-prefix property), click Fetch Sites and choose it from the list. The connection is now active.

Run your first scan

1. Go to Linkilo → Linking → Focus Keyword
2. Click Perform Scan (this imports your Search Console keywords)
3. Confirm the prompt
4. Wait for the success notification

If the scan fails

This usually means another plugin or background job is competing for resources. Try again after a few minutes. If it keeps failing:

• Make sure the Search Console property is verified for the exact URL of your site (with or without www, http or https — they’re separate properties in GSC)
• Confirm you have at least a couple of weeks of Search Console data — brand-new sites won’t show keywords yet
• If Google’s return trip expired, Linkilo sends you back to the settings pane with a plain message; just click Connect again
• Try disconnecting and reconnecting (below)

Disconnecting

If you ever need to revoke Linkilo’s access:

• In Linkilo: Settings → Google Search Console → Deactivate. This clears the stored tokens, the selected property and any pending sign-in, so a reconnect starts fresh.
• In your Google account: myaccount.google.com → Security → Third-party apps with account access → revoke Linkilo

Either method works. Reconnecting later to add Analytics keeps your previously chosen Search Console property.
