What Update URL does
Update URL is a site-wide find-and-replace for links in your content. Tell Linkilo "every time you see https://example.com/old-page/, replace it with https://example.com/new-page/" and Linkilo will go through all your posts and pages and swap them out.
This is not a redirect — it physically updates the link in your post content. Visitors land directly on the new URL with zero redirect hop. Every replacement is logged, and you can undo it from the same screen.
Common use cases
- Expired affiliate or promo links — swap the "best laptop on sale" affiliate link to the new offer once the sale ends. Use a Temporary or Scheduled rule and it ends on its own.
- Permalink changes — restructured your URLs from
/anchor-text/to/blog/anchor-text/? Update URL fixes every internal link in one pass - Outdated article replaced with a fresh one — old guide gone, new guide live. Update URL points all the existing internal links to the new article.
- Discontinued product — for e-commerce, point every internal link to the old product at a similar product that is still for sale
- Fixing typos in inserted URLs — accidentally linked to
htttps://...everywhere? Update URL fixes them all.

The combination is powerful: the Redirection Manager covers external visitors, and clean internal links mean visitors never go through a redirect hop on your own site.
