How to Edit Anchor Text on a Linkilo AI Suggestion

When you'd edit anchor text

Linkilo's AI suggestions ship with a recommended anchor — sometimes the exact match keyword, sometimes a contextual phrase. You'll often want to tweak it:

  • Use a long-tail variant instead of the exact match
  • Match the tone of the surrounding sentence
  • Avoid over-optimising the same anchor across multiple links

Step-by-step

  1. Open a post in the WordPress editor
  2. Scroll to the Linkilo AI Suggestions panel
  3. Find the suggestion you want to use
  4. Click Edit
  5. Highlight the words in the suggestion's preview that should become the anchor
  6. Click Save
  7. Click Insert link when you're happy with the anchor

The link is inserted into your post with the anchor text you chose, exactly where Linkilo planned to place it.

Tips for good anchor text

  • Match search intent — pick anchor wording your readers would actually click
  • Vary your anchors — don't always use the exact match keyword for every link to the same destination
  • Keep it natural — anchor text that reads like spam reads like spam to Google too
  • Be specific — "best espresso machine under $500" beats "click here"

A note on length

Anchor text doesn't have a strict length limit, but most studies suggest 2-6 words works best — long enough to be descriptive, short enough not to feel awkward in the sentence flow.
